Hello!
My name is Cassi and I am the owner of Draft Doctor Editing.
I have a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with a Minor in English and am working towards a certificate from "Proofread Anywhere." My experience includes work for multiple independent authors and one media company. I started this freelance business because I often found errors and mistakes in published works and thought my minor in English and love of books could come in handy by becoming an Editor/Proofreader. It gives me the opportunity read more books while I doctor them up!
My editing and proofreading journey started with author Angie Lee. As an indie author, she had sent me a paperback copy of her novel, The Window, and when I saw some issues (that were probably due to formatting) I reached out to let her know. She was so receptive that I felt a sense of accomplishment and when her sequel, One Last Lie, was ready to come out I helped her out again. I was happy to assist, even though I wasn't charging her anything. I just loved reading and looking for issues, and I wanted her to have the best version that she could. When she reached out again for The Boyfriend Club, I was ready to give her the best feedback possible.
I want to do that for you as well! I hope to assist you with getting your book baby out into the world in the best version possible. I'm relatively new to the industry, but I have a great track record and my prices are commensurate to my experience. My goal isn't to just give feedback once and be done. I want to build a working relationship with open and honest communication so we can mold your manuscript into the best version it can be.
I spend all my free time reading or snuggling with my dog Bear, and watching Law and Order reruns.
